Holiday time has been – and gone – for me. I went to Center Parcs for a week like I have done since 2014. It may not seem like much of a holiday to you but everyone likes a different type of holiday. For me staying in the UK and being surrounded by nature makes me feel like I’m on holiday. I’m away from all of the hustle and bustle.
Anyway, I thought I’d share some of my day-to-day holiday snaps from my week away!
We went to Penrith so naturally with Whinfell Forest being in the lakes it was bound to rain at some point. It was pretty cloudy as we were driving there, but strangely it was around 20 degrees! I couldn’t resist taking a photo as we were going over the Pennines!
It’s not everyday that you get to see nature right on your doorstep – if you live in the city that is! It was great to see ducks, some wild birds and even a few pigeons. The ducks were all really calm, as were all of the other birds. They live on the lake which is right outside where we stayed.
The weather wasn’t always too great and sometimes it did rain. There are tables overlooking the lake and while it did rain on Saturday, I did get to wear my sandals on Sunday!
Summer had arrived for us at Center Parcs on Sunday – and I wasn’t afraid to show it. Of course I kept covered up with sunglasses and wore sunscreen!
We also went for a carvery at the Lakeside Inn and decided to play a little spot of adventure golf.
No they’re not my actual shoes – well maybe they were for our Monday activity, which was bowling. Now bowling isn’t exactly something I’m good at – unfortunately – but I did manage to win one game. I got my first and only strike when we had 1 minute left to play. Slow and steady wins the race as they say!
On Tuesday we went into Penrith for a spot of shopping and then went for some food at one of the restaurants on site. When we were heading back to our apartment I had to take a picture of the sunset. This is what the Lake looks like in the evening. I mean come on how picturesque is that?
Wednesday was a walking day. We walked around the whole of the Center Parcs forest. We saw a few animals but it was this rock sculpture that caught my eye. It gave me a few ideas for blog posts. Yes I know it’s a pile of rocks, but inspiration can come from anywhere!
Going on holiday is all about eating food, right? Well on Thursday we went to the Pancake House – for the second time. The picture above is of my “Make Your Own” pancake stack. Maltesers, a Flake, whipped cream and chocolate sauce – yum! The picture below is of my first pancake called the Cookie Monster.
On Friday 17th of June it was time to pack up and head home from Center Parcs. (*Sad face.*)
Have you been on your holiday yet? If you have why not share a photo gallery on your blog? Have you been to Center Parcs?
